About Jan Berger
Jan founded Themis Foresight to anticipate economic, technological, social, and political drivers of future change. He and his team are driven by the conviction that outstanding futures research is key for the strategic direction of Europe’s business and entrepreneurial elite. Accordingly, he has injected unique quality standards into the DNA of Themis Foresight’s research ethics for the European region.
Client Projects: Jan is a highly demanded sparring partner and speaker. He exclusively advises business leaders on how to steer their companies towards a prosperous future. To this end, he has developed a deep and broad understanding of various industries and their future potential through years of research and consulting.
Research experience: Futures research on industrial work, social market economy, preventive health care, AI, food production, trade, major international ports, financial sector, urban and rural development, mobility.
Other research interests: China, life extension.
Academic Training: Modern and Contemporary History and Slavic Studies
Jan has lived and worked on four continents. He has held leadership positions in corporations and startups. His career path has taken him through publishing, real estate, IT, and finance. Until founding Themis Foresight, he was most recently CEO of 2b AHEAD ThinkTank GmbH for seven years. There, he led the ThinkTank Universe research team. Jan finds his balance in many intellectual interests. He gets peace, energy, and inspiration from his private family house in Bulgaria, where he brings friends and acquaintances together several times a year to exchange ideas and experiences.

Katharina has been an invaluable force since January, bringing over 20 years of experience in strategic foresight,a career forged from her early work at the renowned Trendbüro in Hamburg under Prof. Peter Wippermann.In this role, Katharina will spearhead the evolution of our proprietary foresight methodology, ensuring our work delivers rigorous, evidence-based and future-shaping insights for our clients. She will be closely involved in the strategic advisory work that helps our key clients, from energy to food, turn long-term risk into competitive advantageHer appointment galvanizes our mission to equip industries with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
James Hoefnagels
About James Hoefnagels
James is a Canadian researcher who enriches us with a non-European perspective. As a Senior Researcher and Strategist, he pursues a deep understanding of the future. In doing so, he engages in strategic recommendations on how to succeed in preparing for possible future scenarios.
Projects: Studies on financial services, cybersecurity, and telecommunications
Research experience: Futures research in cybersecurity, quantum computing, financial services, and agriculture
Other research interests: The Future of Data – What is the true role of data in the future?
Academic background: Public Policy with a focus in International Affairs and International Political Economy
Prior to joining Themis Foresight, he was a Senior Researcher, Strategist at 2b AHEAD ThinkTank. Before he worked as a Junior Associate at the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies and as an external consultant for the European Centre for International Political Economy. James also brings his determination, perseverance, and team play to the team.
Felix Tegeler
About Felix Tegeler
Felix joined Themis Foresight in January 2024 as Senior Researcher & Consultant and brings a total of 13 years of experience in future and trend research. As a longtime employee of Trendone, he gained extensive experience in the conception of individual innovation management processes, project management and the establishment of the future mindset. Felix is passionate about taking futurology out of the ivory tower it is often confined to and making it effective in business and society.
Clients Projects: Studies, consulting and workshop management – primarily in the areas of finance, industry, energy and IT.
Research Experience: trends, high tech and urban planning
Futures interests: Post-truth and the future of institutional trust, artificial intelligence and global collaboration.
Academic education: Business Informatics
In addition to his professional activities, Felix spends his time as a digital nomad all over the world. International perspectives on the important issues of the day are important to him. Because one thing should be clear: The major challenges for the future can only be managed if we pull together.

Patricia leads the strategic expansion and market development of Themis Foresight as Head of Marketing and Business Development. She is dedicated to scaling the global impact of the Industrial Renaissance Project (IRP) and ensuring our vision for the next 7 to 10 decades reaches the industrial leaders who will shape the future.
Working closely with CEO @Jan Berger, Patricia bridges the gap between high-level foresight and market reality. She specializes in translating complex biogeophysical realities into compelling strategic narratives that empower companies to move from managing limits to engineering renewal.
Her focus is on building the partnerships and platforms required to secure long-term industrial sovereignty and close cycles, not factories.

He has over 15 years of experience in sales and has gained broad experience across various industries and markets – including at dpa, TWK Elektronik, and other companies. His ambition: to achieve the best possible results for clients and companies with passion and conviction.

Martin joins us at a most exciting moment for the European Economy where the shifting global landscape throws up ample opportunities to shape the future of the whole continent in dimension not available for the last eighty vears. The overwhelming pace of change puts a lot of pressure on companies where existing business models need to adapt fundamentally to catch the opportunities afforded by the market.
With his background in capital markets and extensive international leadership experience Martin brings a unique perspective to our client?s projects. He is critically aware of the challenges European Companies face and the value true Foresight expertise can create in the current business environment.
Martin will work with Jan on strengthening Themis‘ positioning in Foresight Work, focussing on our clients needs and developing new business models as well as markets/ views in these uncertain times. In joining, Martin will allow us to accelerate in our Markets. Very glad to have him on board.

Marie leads the financial and operational heart of Themis Foresight from our Berlin headquarters. As Head of Finance and Operations, she is the architect of the structural systems that allow the Industrial Renaissance Project (IRP) to scale from a visionary blueprint into a global industrial reality.
Working closely with CEO @Jan Berger, Marie ensures that our mission to design the next 7 to 10 decades of industry is backed by operational rigor and strategic financial leadership. She focuses on building a resilient organizational foundation that mirrors our core principle: closing cycles, not factories.
Her work is essential in providing the “Sicherheit” and stability required to engineer long-term industrial renewal and strategic sovereignty.
